Athlete's foot, or a foot fungus, doesn't just affect thletes, but in this case, it affected Patty Mills, a San Antonio Spurs NBA basketball player, at the most inopportune time.  A simple foot fungus in between his 4th and 5th toes caused an infection that became an abcess in his foot that had to be surgically drained, and led him to sit out one of the NBA Finals games.
