Although both walking boots are sufficient for both immobilization and compression, we determine which boot is best for each patient based on their foot size and their daily activity.  For those who are typically surrounded by other people with the risk of being stepped on due to occupation or school, grey CAM walkers are best due to the protective top shell.  Rambunctious animals at home may also indicate the need for added protection.  Patients with desk jobs or limited activity may be best suited for the black CAM walker as extra restriction from the protective top layer is not required.  Your physician will determine which is best for our lifestyle.
