Flat feet beyond this age can lead to flatfeet as an adult which is linked with many foot problems. A flatter foot structure puts strain on the tendons on the inside of the foot, as they try hard to hold the arch up and this can cause tendinitis and possibly a tendon tear. Another result of flat feet is unlocking and instability of joints in the front of the foot, which can lead to the formation of bunions and also hammertoes.
