If you have experienced an ankle sprain, you may be wondering when it is safe to get back to exercise - maybe you even want to know what you can do BEFORE you are back to 100%.
If you have suffered a minor ankle sprain, you may be able to return gradually to ALL activity within a couple of weeks, with use of a supportive ankle brace. This would include walking, elliptical, etc.
If you have suffered a moderate or severe ankle sprain, right away you can still perform non-weightbearing core exercises and upper body strengthening. High impact activities will be on hold for anywhere from 4-10 weeks depending on the severity of you injury.
To find out what the answer is for YOU, a visit with your doctor is critical.
