Q What is a diet controlled diabetic?
ADiabetic patients are identified as such by a fasting blood glucose reading blood test. The fasting blood sugar should be 100mg/dL or less. If it is over, then you may have problems regulating your blood sugar. Often times this is treated with an oral medication, or even insulin. But some patients are able to regulate and monitor their blood sugars without any medication, but instead by diet and exercise. So in this case, you may be diabetic but not need medication - just a good dietician! If you are diabetic, you should have your feet checked regularly.
