We do require a minor to have an adult present for the first visit, as this way all questions, concerns and answers can be handled at that time by the doctor, parent or patient. In some cases if the patient is a teenager coming in for a follow-up and the patient grants permission, they can be seen alone. For minors coming into the office for a procedure, we do require an adult to be present. This is helpful for the child and also for the parent to be fully aware of what happened during the procedure and the need for aftercare.
