Our stretching splint is designed with the option to wear strap on the big toe. This strap helps to stretch more of the arch of the foot, where as the splint alone will help stretch the achilles tendon. The strap on the big toe has the capability of improving motion further, though for some it can be uncomfortable. There is great benefit to using the stretching splint even if you CANNOT tolerate using the toe strap at night. I often recommend patients use the strap at rest during the day when they can tolerate it and go without so they can get a better night's rest.
