Is winter, spring, summer or fall the best time of year for foot surgery?

You may be wondering what time of year is better for surgery.

In my opinion, people are people so with elective procedure, the decision lies with my patients.  Some patients prefer to have it done early in the year to meet deductibles and because our schedule is usually more open. Others prefer the end of the year because they want to wait until a deductible is met. When it comes to weather, winter can be a hard time to recover due to the ice and slippery sidewalks – but then again you won’t be outside much anyway!  An argument can really be made any way. Our doctors will give you the pertinent information in your plan of care and if the procedure in question needs to be done more urgently, we will discuss this with you too!
