Self tying shoes? No longer a fantasy, but a reality thanks to Nike
Posted on Mar 20, 2016
For the past 20 years since the movie "Back to the Future" came out, there has been speculation if self tying gym shoes would ever becom a reality. Well, according to Nike, their version of self tying shoes, Nike Hyperadapt 1.0, will be on sale for the 2016 holiday season. According to Nike, when you step into the shoe, there is a sensor in the heel that automatically activates the shoelaces to tighten. The technology is referred to as "adaptive" lacing rather than actual self lacing, shich means that the laces tighten themselves but can be altered by the wearer by two buttons on either side of the shoe. Once in place, the laces will never loosen when running, jumping, or any other athletic activity. How much will they cost? Nike hasn't released a price yet, but you can bet that won't stop its demand when the holidays come.
