Q
Do I have to be off my feet for bunion surgery?

A

Most of our bunion patients are partially weight bearing the day of surgery.  You will have a special boot or shoe but you are able to walk with most weight on your heel.  We do recommend that you take it very easy the first few days after surgery, getting up for meals and to use the bathroom only.  This will help with swelling which decreases pain levels and lowers your risk of infection.
