My son has something in his foot. When do I bring him in?

Now many times people ask me if they always need to bring their children in when they think something is in their foot.  If they can't walk on it, or if there is any drainage or surrounding redness the answer is an immediate yes.
If you don't see any of those symptoms and its not causing them any pain then you can wait a few days and see if it works itself out. There is always a risk that it will work its way in deeper, making removal more difficult. So be careful how long you wait.
Remember if they develop redness, drainage or begin limping call our office for an appointment right away.
